Learn about us

Our Care Model / Our Mission:

To improve the oral and overall health of the Massachusetts Public Employees Fund membership by delivering evidence-based care in a patient-centered office.

Our Philosophy

The care philosophy at the ADC is different than at many other dental offices. Your first appointment is long, as we want to get to know you and learn what you are interested in achieving be being a patient at the ADC.  We deliver care in “phases” – we will address your immediate needs and work with you to reduce your risk before we provide major, non-emergency restorative care. This requires a commitment by you working with our care team to follow the hygiene recommendations and work with us to improve and maintain your oral health.

Phases of Treatment
Phase One:

The goal of Phase One is to evaluate the overall oral health of the patient
to determine ‘next steps’ which must include getting the disease and bacteria under
control before beginning any major restorative treatment. The patient must agree to
work with the dental team through this phase, and subsequent phases, prior to having
any long-term, permanent restorations provided by ADC.

Phase Two:

The goal of Phase Two is to remove/address disease and introduce the
products and interventions that will assist in the reduction of disease factors in
preparation for long-term restorations. This Phase also includes periodontal and/or
endodontic therapy and temporary restorations, if needed.

Phase Three:

The goal of Phase Three is to begin the process of long-term restorations
of tooth structure and function after the disease factors have been addressed and risk
reduced. The patient will have had to follow the recommendations in prior Phases to
be eligible for these services.

Phase Four:

The goal of Phase Four is to have the patient in a maintenance mode,
whereby the disease is under control - and stays under control - and the treatments
have been provided to restore tooth structure and function

Patient Commitment

The unique care model at the ADC requires patients to commit to a long-term relationship with our care team. Once we get to know you and understand what your unique needs and concerns are, we will develop a treatment plan just for you based on your oral health goals. It will include frequency of hygiene appointments and home use of therapeutic products that have been proven to address your unique needs.

We want to be your ‘dental home’ – a place where all you oral health care needs are met. We will work with you to achieve your goals. If we are unable to provide necessary services, such as root canals or extractions, we will refer you to a specialist’s office for that treatment. We will also coordinate your care with that office to help you understand the process and your financial obligation.

Holistic Approach

We get to know you so that we can address your specific concerns and needs.

Cavities & Decay

The ADC takes an evidence-based, minimally-invasive approach to the care, management and control of the dental disease process. This unique approach is meant to reduce existing disease burden and prevent future destruction of tooth structure.

Barriers to Care

Many patients have anxiety when visiting the dentist. We understand, and will work with you to feel comfortable and safe in a calming environment.

We want to be your dental home, where you can feel comfortable and safe when you need us.
